Ian Taylor is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers and a Director of Aviation with Arup. He is based in Hong Kong. Ian has more than 35 year’s experience in the planning and design of transportation infrastructure and has lived and worked in the UK, Ireland, USA and Asia. During his 26 years with Arup he has worked on a number of high-profile transportation projects around the world. Ian currently leads Arup’s global aviation business including the East Asia region; which includes India and China among other regional markets.
Ian has a keen interest in the Philippine airport sector and in particular in the PPP developments of recent years. He led the multi-disciplinary Arup team responsible for the planning and engineering design of the new Terminal 2 at Mactan-Cebu International Airport and he is involved with concessionaires bidding for a range of other projects in the Philippines. He is also leading the engineering joint venture delivering the design of Changi Airport’s Terminal 5.
