Mr. Uesugi joined the Narita International Airport Corporation (NAA) in 1998.
Since joining the NAA, he has been assigned to various positions, and has built a strong background in airport management.
From 1999 to 2002, he worked in the Land Acquisition Department where the mission was to open a second runway, and overcame this delicate task through persistent negotiations and trust-building with local land owners.
After completion of the runway, he spent two years at All Nippon Airways (ANA), where he was assigned to the Passenger Service Department, and learned about ground handling. He came back to NAA as a member of the South Wing Renovation Project at Terminal 1, where he coordinated with manufacturers and brands to procure as tenants.
From 2010 to 2014, he was transferred to NAA Retailing Corporation and worked in the travel duty free business. He led the project to refurbish the duty free shops, and negotiated with the top retail brands. Since July 2014, he serves in the current position, looking after International Affairs and Overseas Business.
He received Bachelor of Policy Management in 1998 from Keio University in Japan.
